Little Alex Apartments

ALB Applied Waterproofing carried out refurbishment works to 16 existing apartment balconies at Little Alex Apartments in Manchester. The scope included the removal and replacement of balcony finishes, followed by the installation of a liquid-applied PMMA waterproofing system to the balcony decks.

As part of the refurbishment, new cedar cladding and aluminium cappings were installed to the balcony perimeters, providing both a durable waterproofing detail and an improved architectural finish. The PMMA system was selected for its fast curing properties and suitability for occupied residential environments.

In addition to the balcony works, a new Alwitra single-ply waterproofing system was installed to the main apartment block roof, covering approximately 234 square metres. The combined works delivered a coordinated waterproofing solution across both balcony and roof areas, improving long-term performance and weather protection for the development.
